All of My Heart

Synopsis

Sweet Jenny Fintley meets city boy Brian Howell when they both inherit a country home in Bucks County, PA. He wants to sell, she wants to turn it into a B&B. They agree she'll buy him out in the future, and they part ways. Things all change when he arrives on their doorstep, tired and disheveled, having lost his high-flying job in New York. They split the house it two, but these two quickly become a pair as they restore the house to its former glory. Throw in a lovesick ex and a sweet sweet goat and you got yourself a Hallmark Original. 

The Conflict

At the beginning of the movie, Jenny's boyfriend announces that he received a promotion at work. A promotion that required him to be abroad a lot of the time. Jenny ends the relationship, but they still have some feelings for each other. Brian has a adversary in this bozo Darryl, because Darryl has the guts to go after Jenny as Brian takes his sweet time in realizing his feelings for Jenny. 

Review

As far as Hallmark movies go, this is a lovely average movie. The acting was good, the chemistry was nice. Lacey's character could have been more assertive, in love and in life. I think it's great that she started her own business and that she worked hard, but it just seemed flat. She said she was passionate, but I've seen other Hallmark lady chefs much more driven than Jenny. I didn't care much about her business, other than looking at the amazing food and watching them fix the house. Brennan was fun as Brian. He was easily convincing as both a stockbroker and a handyman. His country outfits will definitely be a source of inspiration for me next winter. His transformation from city boy to country boy was fun. Chatty Brian's friendship with the local general store owner, a man of few words, was fun to watch.

The scenes where the couple was fixing up the house were the most fun. The chemistry seemed natural and relaxed. The house was a fun character itself, with its singing pipes and wobbly tables. I could definitely watch two whole hours of just house fixing....Well, I guess I already do; it's called Fixer Upper.

The female friendships in All of my Heart were lovely. I could definitely used more of the girl power moments. There was a great scene toward the end where one of the supporting characters declared she was going to take over a restaurant, with or without a man; she wasn't waiting around any more! Get it girl!

Overall, I would recommend this title. Was it the best Hallmark Original? No. Was it predictable? Yes, duh. Was it unbearable? No.
